Beautiful Uganda

After church in Kisoro--Western Uganda near the Congo border

You can almost see the rainbow in this photo- it was very bright in the sky.
The agriculture in this area is amazing.

This volcano separates Uganda, Congo and Rwanda

Gorillas live in the mist up on this volcano

At a church in Kisoro

Refugee assembly and reception camp. Thousands of Congolese have fled to Uganda due to the recent fighting. CBF has provided $5,000 to use for emergency food and shelter. Refuge and Hope is also looking at ways to assist with the situation among the displaced in Congo. Thousands of children (unaccompanied minors) have been separated from their families and the needs are overwhelming within Congo itself.

If you buy fish(Talapia) from the roadside market,
how do you keep it from smelling up the car? Just strap it to the front!

Locally made baskets going to the market.

Kaberamaido Town
This is the town where some new work is opening up for a community/training/resource center

See you next time!

Flat tire!

Discussing with the village elders about the project in Kaberamaido

Surveying the land

Lake Kyoga

Fish anyone?

The Greek river near the border of Kenya. Fishing and swimming.

The village of Greek recently received a borehole. 1 for about 3,000 people.

Children singing at the Greek church

The Greek church. We had well over 50 inside.

Sipi Falls

Circumcision procession. Thousands of boys are circumcised during the month of December. Unfortunately many girls undergo FGM also. The Ugandan government is supposed to pass a law in April 2009 to ban the practice of FGM, but it is still very prevalent in this area.

Happy KJ!
